Radiant Heater Yearly Maintenance
Radiant Heater Yearly Maintenance
With proper yearly maintenance you can not only prolong the life of your radiant infrared gas fired heating system but also reduce the possibility of a heating system outage when you can least afford it! We all think about our heating system when it starts to get cold. However, we need to start thinking about our heating systems two to three months before the heating season starts.
This process has two simple components, Visual Examination and System Test.
-The Visual Examination of the Gas Fired Radiant Infrared Heater-
-Fresh Air Inlet- Insure that the inlet is free of any debris that may have collected during the off season.
*If there is debris simply remove it
-Exhaust Vent- Insure that the Exhaust vent is also free of any debris that may have collected during the off season.
*If there is debris simply remove it
-Radiant Tubes and Reflectors- Look for any damage that may have occurred or excessive dirt buildup.
*With excessive dirt buildup using an air hose to blow off the dirt is generally all that is needed.
-The System Test of the Gas Fired Radiant Infrared Heater-
-This is simply done by turning up your thermostat until the unit turns on after the visual inspection is complete.
-What to look for
*System fires up and stays on. If the system continually turns on and off you will need to contact your Authorized Mfg representative to properly diagnose the issue and have it fixed. This is important to do BEFORE the heating season as if there is an issue detected during the heating season there are occasional delays due to high demand.
