Reflect-O-Ray® EDS 6
CASE HISTORY
 Greensboro, NC. The Reflect-O-Ray® EDS 6 low intensity infra-red
heating system was selected for the 80 foot tall Timco Maintenance hangar. Even though the
equipment cost of the Reflect-O-Ray® EDS/6 system was somewhat higher
than the competitive systems, including our own Reflect-O-Ray® EDS 3.5,
the installed costs showed substantial savings in gas piping (65% less), electrical
service and installation labor. With all these factors combined, the total savings for
this application were in excess of $40,300.00. Add these savings to the elimination of
condensate lines and disposal, Reflect-O-Ray® EDS 6 becomes the
radiant system of choice.
The Reflect-O-Ray® EDS 6 system, designed for high bay
facilities, allows the engineer to create the uncluttered appearance shown with this
aircraft hangar. Timco's Hangar is designed to hold two 727 and one 747 planes at the same
time. Timco performs full service aircraft renovations. The huge hangar doors are often
left open for more than an hour moving the large aircraft in the hangar. The rapid heat
recovery of the Reflect-O-Ray® EDS 6 system, hung at 60 feet, is continually
proven. Timco has benefited from continued savings with the reduced fuel usage
inherent in Reflect-O-Ray® radiant heating systems. A second hangar next
door to the one pictured above has since been built and the heating system of choice was
the Reflect-O-Ray® system.
